It is amazing that you cannot even see the whites of her eyes! Its great that you can see the crud above her lip! I think this is well composed I would've liked to not have the top part of her head cut off.I like it.
Babies eyes. I love them because the eye holes are so small, and therefore the eyes always seem so big. I learnt this when finding out that our eyeballs stay the same size from birth to death. With the danger of sounding too Hannibalesque, I actually aimed to cut the top of the head off since my aim was to centre the eyes directly halfway up the photo. I didn't want to keep any more than a little below the chin, and contemplated cutting off the bottom of the chin too. Also, that baby is always freakin' smiling, so I was inwardly pleased with this shape of the mouth. I planned to shoot the baby (did I just say that?) before most of the food was wiped from around the mouth, but didn't get the chance. The feature I am most unpleased with was the points of focus. I set the focal points from one side of the white hood to the other, but when I got the photo onto my computer I realised that on the right side it only reached the edge of the face, so the hood is noticably out of focus compared to the left side. Hmm, yes, overall, I liked this photo. And Gisela, I just wanted to say that I enjoy reading your comments and that they are greatly valued.
amazing how if you ignore the rule of thirds it still turns out right. a cute picture with rule of thirds, i think you'd have to move in a lot closer, and those pictures make babies seem large and fat instead of small and adorable.
mercy...all you have to do is convert to chinese-ism, have eye surgery, marry a black guy, you're good to go. or i guess you could adopt but that wouldn't be as fun.
